Melancholic Zombie's Summer 2021

I'm back! Though I never left, I just had to take a break from blogging and website updating, and making art in general as there's so many things that must be done. But that didn't stop me from finishing a long-time project, which you will hear more about very, very soon...

Let's start with the new Juho & the Jellyfish from Jupiter releases. At the end of the June both 'Quarantine Diaries, Chapter I' and 'Ordinary Living Dead' EPs were released, and both have gotten more listeners that I'm used to. It's nice to know that there's even a small audience for my weird space rock. Thank you!

I've been working on with 'Quarantine Diaries' since the first days of January, and it was nice to finally complete the first chapter. This project was originally meant to be a full album, but I think that double EP release fits it better. And now I can get it on vinyl too, which was one of the biggest reasons why I cut it in the half.

Last track of 'Chapter I' is titled 'Not Dead Yet (What I'm Doing Here?)' and it's heavily inspired by tango ( :o ) and... Muse. If you didn't know, I used to hate, hate, hate Muse back in the day, which make this song a weird one. I think the true lesson here is that you should sometimes give things an another chance. Sometimes.

At the same time as 'Chapter I' was released, I decided to publish an another EP titled 'Ordinary Living Dead'. This one is an important one for me, because it was meant to be the first Juho & the Jellyfish from Jupiter release ever - even when the project wasn't even called that! But as usual, life got in the way and 'Ordinary Living Dead' just kinda stayed on my harddrive, waiting for the right time...

And that time was now. This is probably my favourite recording I made - not perfect in any way, but an important step on my own musical journey. I might even write the story and history of these songs at some point!

Beautiful cover art was made by Eeva, go follow them on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theparanormalking/

And let's not forget that 'Quarantine Diaries, Chapter II' has just begun! I have no idea what it will be like, but here's the first taste. It's an instrumental metal song, heavily inspired by those old Nightwish intrumentals like 'Moondance' and 'Last of the Wilds'. It's titled 'End of the Consumer Society' and it sounds like this:

That is a lot of Juho & the Jellyfish from Jupiter stuff. I recorded some new Melancholic Zombie music, but will see when I have time to mix those songs. They're fun though. But I found old files for 'God Is Dead' lyric video from 2014 and decided to finally finish it.

That's it for the music. I started a new, still untitled art series, and the first pieces are already on my Instagram and DevianArt pages. I'll continue this project when I get my studies finished, but I really enjoy the path it's taking. Hopefully you'll see all the finished works at the next years Macabre Dark Art Gallery!

And speaking of Macabre Dark Art Gallery, it's still open until the end of August. You can either head over to Artsteps website or app, or check it out right under this line:

I'm pretty sure that's all the major things. Lot's of interesting projects underway, many words being written and art being... arten? I don't know. I'm just filling up space.

See ya,

Juho
